Fate

February 20, 2010

In the dark criminal world of Seoul, U-min (Song), Cheol-jung (Kwon), Do-wan (Kim In-kwon) and Yeong-hwan (Ji Sung) are close friends in a gang. One day, with the help of an older member Gang-seop (Ahn Nae-seong), U-min, Cheol-jung and Do-wan attack the gang’s casino so they can start new lives. But their plan goes awry when Cheol-jung betrays them, and U-min goes to prison. He becomes the scapegoat to save his friends’ lives.

After serving his time, U-min wants to stay out of trouble but is drawn back into the underworld when he sees what has become of his friends: money and power-hungry Cheol-jung continues to betray others as he climbs up the gang ladder; Do-wan is a drug user; Gang-seop is missing; and his girlfriend Eun-yeong (Park Han-byul) has left him to run a bar as the boss’ mistress.

As U-min tries to solve the situation, however, unfortunate twists of fate set off one misunderstanding after another. To make matters worse, the mob boss and right-hand man Yoeng-hwan get them involved in a huge drug deal. Once again thrown into a game with high stakes and big cash, the once best friends must fight one another for their lives.

IP Man OST

Ip Man is a 2008 Hong Kong martial arts biopic that is based on the life of Yip Man, the martial arts master of Bruce Lee, and the first to teach the Chinese martial art of Wing Chun openly. The film focuses on events surrounding Yip that took place in Foshan between the 1930s to 1940s during the Japanese occupation of China.
Directed by Wilson Yip, the film stars Donnie Yen as Yip Man and features fight choreography by Sammo Hung. Yip Man’s two sons and several Wing Chun practitioners also appear in the film. Ip Chun, Yip Man’s eldest son served as a consultant for the film.
Ip Man is the first film to be based on the life of the martial artist. After a first attempt to portray Yip Man’s life on screen went into development hell, producer Raymond Wong developed his own project with full consent from Yip Man’s sons, and had filmmakers head to Foshan, to research Master Yip’s life.
From March to August 2008, filming took place in Shanghai, which was used to architecturally recreate Foshan. Wong Kar-wai had planned his own Yip Man biopic, The Great Master, a film that has been in development hell for several years. During the filming of Ip Man, conflict arose between producers over the film’s title, as Ip Man was originally titled Grandmaster Yip Man, which bears a resemblance to Wong Kar-wai’s film title. To settle the dispute, filmmakers decided to use their recent title.

Ip Man was released in Hong Kong on December 18, 2008, becoming a box-office hit in Asia alone, and receiving widespread acclaim from both critics and audiences.

AKA Maang lung
A team of young Interpol agents arrive in Hong Kong to give testimony at the trial of local crime lord ‘Puma’ Duen. Among them are American agent Andy Hui (Andy On), Taiwanese cop Vanness Chang (Vanness Wu), and local lawman Lok. They are greeted by Hong Kong police commander Hon Sun (Simon Yam). The heavily armed convoy taking Puma to court is attacked by a ruthless team of North Korean agents, led by international terrorist Petros Davinci (Michael Biehn). Petros is seeking revenge for his brother in arms, who was killed by Puma and his brother, ‘Tiger’ Duen. At Petros’ side is his fierce enforcer, Ko (Jun-ho Heo), and a lethal lady sniper, Song (Maggie Q). After Puma is snatched, the Interpol team insists on tracking down Petros themselves. Hon Sun rejects their request and places the team in the care of veteran police officer Kong Long (Sammo Hung). A burned out cop who has never come to terms with either his personal or professional history, Long Kong is reluctant to get involved. Finally, inspired by his young charges, he rises to the occasion, and leads the Interpol team on their quest for Petros and his team. The mean streets of Hong Kong form a backdrop for a battle of wills, wits, and urban warfare.
